Lynne Jackson Speaks at R-K

Lynne Jackson 1

Rosati-Kain welcomed Lynne Jackson, the great-great granddaughter of Dred and Harriett Scott for meaningful conversations with our students about the impact of the Dred Scott Decision. Ms. Jackson is the president and founder of The Dred Scott Heritage Foundation, an organization that, as per their mission, seeks "to educate the public of the critical impact of the Dred Scott Decision and the struggle for freedom of Dred and Harriet Scott through commemoration, education and reconciliation." Ms. Jackson spoke volumes about the importance of reconciliation throughout our lives. It was an honor to have her with us during our celebrations of Black History Month.
