The religious character of Rosati-Kain High School is what sets us apart from other high schools in the St. Louis area.

All spiritual activities are intended to proclaim Jesus Christ, in light of Catholic Church teaching, for the interior transformation of the student and the renewal of humanity. The Theology Department, with the support of Campus Ministry, exercises the lead role in the religious education of its students in order to foster personal relationships with Jesus Christ and His Body, the Church. Gospel values are incorporated throughout all course work.

The Theology curriculum begins freshman year with a study of salvation history through the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, always with an eye to the fulfillment of salvation in Jesus, the Christ.

Sophomore Theology picks up with the study of the Church, the community of followers of Jesus Christ and how that community seeks to connect with God through the grace of the Sacraments.

Junior Theology leads students to consider, as followers of Christ, how then are we to live? For Juniors, Christian Morality and Catholic Social Teaching are the two areas of concentration.

Senior Theology takes the students through Ecumenical and Interreligious Dialogue, encouraging knowledge of, experience with, and true respect for other faith traditions and the persons who live them. As a kind of capstone course, seniors also study Christian Vocations, a discernment of each one’s unique call by God and her individual, intentional response to God’s call throughout her life.

The religious character of Rosati-Kain High School is what sets us apart from other high schools in the St. Louis area. The four core values given by the School Sisters of Notre Dame and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, our founding orders, reflect our mission and identify Rosati-Kain as a Catholic high school.

Humilitas – We listen to God’s call, we recognize that everything we are is a gift from God, and we embrace God’s call in our lives.

Virtus – We pursue good and always give the best of ourselves.

Scientia – We use the gift of intellect and life experiences which transform and empower us.

Caritas – We celebrate God’s unconditional love living in and through us.

The spirituality of the women of Rosati-Kain is enriched through liturgies, prayer services, annual retreats, and service opportunities.

On a daily basis, using the most common Rosati-Kain prayer, students begin and end the school day with a prayer that includes writings from both our CSJ and SSND founders.

Jesus, unite My heart to your heart,

My works to your works

My whole self to your self

(Jean Pierre Medaille, SJ Founder of the CSJ)

May Jesus be the way we walk,

The truth we follow,

The life we lead.

(Blessed Theresa Gerhardinger, SSND Foundress of the SSND)
