Rosati-Kain High School hosted a College Signing Day on February 1, 2017 for two star athletes. Meghan Delaney ’17 and Alexandria Kennebeck ’17 signed letters of intent to continue playing their selected sport in college.
Delaney will be attending the University of Illinois – Springfield, where she was recruited to play soccer for the Prairie Stars. “I have always been inspired by a quote from Alex Morgan, ‘Always work hard, never give up, and fight until the end because it’s never really over until the whistle blows.’ I have never given up on my dream of playing in college,” Delaney shared.
Coach Bill Taylor spoke highly of his defense player. “Meghan’s drive to consistently improve along with her strong competitive streak has helped get her in a position to succeed both in high school and college.
Kennebeck signed her letter of intent with Westminster College in Fulton, MO, to continue playing volleyball. The Kougars’ outside hitter has been playing the sport for several years and looks forward to playing in college. “I am ecstatic to be given the opportunity to continue my athletic and academic career at a place like Westminster College and I thank everyone who has been with me through my journey so far. I would not be where I am today without my friends, coaches, teachers and family members who have all played equal roles in shaping me into the person I am today.”
R-K Athletic Director Mel Wilson praised Kennebeck, “Allie has grown significantly as a player to become a dominant presence on the court. She strives to be better than yesterday and she lifts up her teammates each time she steps up to play.”
